Frequently Asked Questions

  • We encourage you to be as involved as you would like to be! Most of our couples place great value on music and probably have very distinct ideas about what they want to hear. If you would like to select every song, we are happy to accommodate that. The majority of our couples, however, prefer to discuss with their DJ, in depth, their preferences and at least a few specific requests. We pride ourselves on listening to our clients and respecting their input and wishes, while providing additional suggestions and guidance when appropriate.

  • Our DJ's typical “uniform” is a professional business suit with appropriate accessories. We want to blend seamlessly into the background of any dance floor photos, and we never want to be dressed more formally than the groom (if applicable) or other members in the wedding party. If a tuxedo or other attire would be more appropriate for your event you would simply let us know.

  • Yes! When looking for a subtle effect of light or full dramatic light effects all within one light system, look no further than our advanced uplighting systems that we provide. Not only can you dramatically effect your entire venue with traditional uplights, but you can create different scenes throughout your event as we control the room's look from our DJ area. You can start with a romantic feel and move to a more vibrant dance time.

  • Yes, we can take requests and play them at the appropriate times, unless they appear on the "do not play list".

  • Just as you pay a caterer for his or her expertise in food, you are paying DJ West or one of our associate DJ’s in large part for out expertise in music. I am more than willing to provide you with a multitude of suggestions based on your preferences, and I am perfectly comfortable selecting most (or all) of the music if you aren’t interested in doing so. Our extensive knowledge of music enables us to work with your requests and create a mood that reflects your taste while creating a great atmosphere for all of your guests. In addition, we specialize in addressing music “challenges,” whether combining multicultural musical styles or adapting unique or eclectic music tastes to the formality of a wedding. We are always available to answer questions or assist you in choosing the songs that will reflect your vision of your special day.

  • YES, we can provide sound in 3 different locations at the SAME venue as well as a wireless microphone for the pastor or officiant (as long as there is an electrical power source within 100 feet).

  • The music if for all ages of your guests, therefore we only play clean and edited versions of music.
